Tips to prevent cystitis

Now that we are in summer, among the most common infections this time of year, undoubtedly number one, is the urine infection, called cystitis. Urine infections increase in summer.

Heat, sweat and baths favor a humid environment where fungi and bacteria are found like fish in water, pun intended. Outcome? More risk of infections that, although not serious, can make more than one bitter vacation. More than 80% of cystitis are due to E.coli, a bacterium that lives in the intestine and reaches the bladder through the vagina and urethra. Normally, it is eliminated by vaginal discharge and the antibacterial properties of urine, but if not, it adheres to the bladder and inflames it.

The anatomy of women (very short urethra and close to the anal opening) favors the passage of germs to the bladder, causing urine infection. If you want to prevent cystitis, there are several healthy keys that can help you:

1-Drink two liters of water a day to eliminate bacteria from the urinary system faster.

2-Urinate every 2-3 hours. Bacterial growth is greater when urine remains in the bladder and after sexual intercourse.

3-Wash the intimate area from front to back, to avoid contamination. Dry in the same direction.

4-Fight constipation and do not postpone the evacuation of stool so that germs cannot colonize the tissues near the urinary tract.

5-Avoid abusing tampons. The use of the diaphragm as tampons can promote infections, since it puts pressure on the urethra and makes it difficult to empty the bladder.

6-Avoid tight clothes, synthetic underwear, alkaline soaps ... and what alters the flora also favors cystitis. In case of suffering from cystitis,  we recommend Cistitus Forte. It is the combination of American Cranberry, Salvia officinalis L. and vitamin C. The extract of Salvia officinalis L. (Ursolia®) is rich in ursolic acid and Vitamin C contributes to the normal functioning of the immune system.

If necessary, the specialist can prescribe an antibiotic that you must take to the letter (never do it on your own).

Urine infections tend to recur if they don't heal well. Take 2 tablets a day for 10 days (along with the antibiotic). If an antibiotic is necessary, the specialist may prescribe one that you must take to the letter (never do it on your own). Urine infections tend to recur if they don't heal well. When finished in packaging, it is advisable to continue taking Cistitus tablets for a minimum of one month.
