How to combat fluid retention

Fluid retention affects a large number of people and is especially common in women and in times of high temperatures.

The causes can be very diverse; diet, poor circulation, hormonal changes, kidney or liver diseases, etc; and causes swelling or edema in the abdomen and legs, weight gain and a decrease in urine, among others. Although the symptoms are not serious, they can be uncomfortable, so we leave you some recommendations to avoid or reduce it: Reduce your salt intake.

Excess sodium is the main enemy. Avoid spending too much time on your feet, it hinders blood circulation. Try to spend time with your legs up. Drink water, between 1.5 and 2 liters, it is the best way for the body not to retain fluids.

Take care of your diet and choose fresh foods with a cleansing effect, such as asparagus, cucumber or artichoke, and limit precooked or sausages, as they provide a large amount of partner. Stay active and get moderate exercise, like walking or swimming.
