Acne skins: how to treat them

How is oily skin?
Oily skin is characterized by excess sebum that results in a shiny appearance, with enlarged skin pores and the presence of inflammatory lesions, pimples and blackheads. Oily skin has an important genetic component and tends to occur more frequently during adolescence, due to increased general glandular activity (and, thus, also of the sebaceous glands), but there are also habits that favor excess sebum in the complexion.

Oily skin is also quite sensitive, it has a thick texture and tends to flake in non-seborrheic areas, the presence of redness and irritation. As a main advantage, it is often said that oily skin ages later, although excessive sebum production does not always mean that the skin is hydrated, therefore hydration should not be dispensed with.

The main problem with oily skin is acne, which is nothing more than the accumulation of oil under clogged skin pores. Infection of the blackheads by bacteria can cause scars on the skin, and that is the great aesthetic problem of acne skin.

Following the following tips will help you prevent acne:

  • Wash and dry the skin daily to remove excess oil from the surface and prevent pores from blocking.
  • Clean the skin daily with products suitable for oily skin.
  • Take care not to apply hairsprays or styling gels close to your face.
  • If you have body acne, you should wear loose clothing to avoid skin irritation.
  • Do not squeeze the pimples since you can redden and even infect the area.
  • Eat Healthy. A diet rich in vitamins and minerals will help you keep the skin cleaner from pimples.
  • Drink plenty of water. At least two liters a day.

If despite these tips, you do not reduce or improve acne, you should go to the dermatologist to determine the treatment you should follow.

Besides, you can use one of the many anti-acne treatments that you will find in the pharmacy; Of course, make sure that it is a sebum-regulating, exfoliating and astringent product that prevents obstruction of the hair follicle and prevents the proliferation of acne-causing bacteria. If you need advice, ask us.
